WaterSteamboat Springs and surrounding areas are served by several water and sanitation districts. The area between Fish Creek Falls Road and Snow Bowl Plaza at the north end of town is supplied by the City of Steamboat Springs. For service in this area, residents should contact City Hall at (970) 871-6303. No deposit for water service is required. The area east of Fish Creek Falls Road and around the ski resort is supplied by Mount Werner Water and Sanitation District. Call (970) 879-2497. The area just west of town is supplied by Steamboat II Water & Sanitation District. Call (970) 879-7671. Stagecoach is serviced by the Morrison Creek Water & Sanitation District, which can be reached at (970) 736-8250. In Hayden, water is supplied by the town, which can be contacted at (970) 276-3741. For these services there is a $75 deposit. Some subdivisions such as Tree Haus or Willow Creek Pass have their own water supply. Residents further from urban areas may be on well and septic. Well permits cost $440 and can be obtained from the Colorado Division of Water Resources at 505 Anglers Drive, Suite 101, in Steamboat Springs. You can call (970) 879-0272. To gauge the water quality at their wells, residents can get kits to test for bacteria for $15 from the Routt County Environmental Health Department, which can be contacted at (970) 879-0185.
